Weld County School District 6

Weld County School District 6

If people think about school districts, their minds likely turn to buildings and budgets – because usually, the only time a school district makes a concerted effort to reach a wider audience, they’re looking for funding: an elementary school needs a new ball field; a high school is overcrowded. The problem is, that makes it tough for regular people to care. So when Weld County School District 6, which operates in the communities of Greeley and Evans, Colorado, asked helveticka for help with an image campaign, the answer was simple: Put a face to the district. After interviewing six people connected with the district – three students, a former principal, an employee, and an alum – helveticka’s team worked with Greeley photographer Erik Stenbakken to create a campaign around their stories under the theme “I’m District 6.” By focusing on their experiences and contributions, the campaign effectively paints a more complete picture of the district’s importance to the communities it serves, while also providing a vehicle for district pride. In addition to creating social media assets, helveticka provided files for the district’s in-house design team to build additional pieces, including free-standing banners, posters, stickers, and assorted print materials – as well as video interviews.
