Re-Defining “Season’s Greetings”

Pressworks

Anyone can send a holiday card. And really, there’s nothing wrong with a traditional sentiment printed on old-fashioned paper. But Pressworks has always favored a somewhat…bolder approach – which is why they’ve come to helveticka for the past six years. It’s a relationship that began with 2014’s “Holiday in a Can” and continued through to last year’s homage to the legendary Bob Ross. For 2019, the creative team opted for an approach that showed off the capabilities of Pressworks’ new digital press: a 12.5"w x 39.5"h poster, printed two-sided as a single pass using metallic inks. The poster, inspired by Shel Silverstein’s “Snowball” from his poetry collection Falling Up, features a custom illustration by Don Baker. It was sent to recipients accompanied by a bag of “Pressworks Brand No-Mess Office Snowballs” – paper pre-crumpled into hand-sized projectiles – complete with instructions on how to acquire and hit your target. helveticka provided design and writing services; Pressworks handled the printing (naturally) and the delivery.
