RECLAMATION OBLIGATION
Closure planning is a complex and ongoing process. Site reclamation plans are updated annually, as are the projected costs for reclamation activities. When estimating reclamation costs, Coeur follows guidance from ASC 410 Accounting for Asset Retirement Obligations. Reclamation costs are based on consideration of life-of-mine operating plans and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. At year-end 2013, Coeur’s estimated aggregate reclamation obligation was $113.3 million.
