where we come from, how we got here, and where we’re going
Though it was formed in 1953, it could almost be argued that the beginnings of Integrus Architecture actually go back two years earlier, when founding principal Bruce Walker, then one of Walter Gropius’s students at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, beat 2,700 other entrants in a nationwide small homes design contest. It was the  rst of many accolades for Walker, and it set the tone not only for his career, but also for the  rm he founded with partner John McGough in Spokane, Washington. Over the past 60 years, Integrus has certainly lived up to
its auspicious beginnings. Some of the most notable and recognizable
buildings throughout Washington and the Paci c Northwest, in fact, are the product of a design aesthetic that has made Integrus one of the most respected architecture  rms in the region – but that Walker himself rather humbly referred to as simply “expressing the solution most appropriate to the particular project.”
Today, Integrus comprises a diverse and dedicated group of architects, structural engineers, interior designers, and business professionals, each committed to an integrated approach toward meaningful and lasting design in the public realm. The  rm’s goal is to create buildings that contribute to the life of the communities they serve; its hope is to make the world a better place – for everyone – to work, to learn, to
